Getting A Tattoo
Getting A Tattoo
Tattoos have become such a big thing in our culture. It represents who we are as people, and every single person has a different meaning behind each one upon their body. As of right now, I currently have three tattoos. First starting on both of my wrists, and then I have one on my thigh. Each represent something in my life that have great value to me, it adds color to my life. I'll first be describing some of the important steps first before getting a tattoo.
Steps:
1. Before getting a tattoo, you want to go through all the ideas you have in place for the tattoo you are choosing. Make sure that it is the right one for you before proceeding to get it. Waiting a few weeks or a few months may make the decision easier, when choosing a tattoo it is always important to remember that it will be on your body forever, and caution: it is permanent.2. After deciding which tattoo, you want to find a reliable tattoo artist that has very good, detailed work. When picking an artist you want to choose someone that has good reviews from previous people that have gotten tattoos from them. And someone that has pictures of the work they have done.
3. When scheduling with an artist you want someone that is going to give you a reasonable amount that they are charging you for your tattoo, depending on the size. And to pick a date that is going to be flexible with your schedule.
4. It is important to think about the design you are going for, and to make it original just how you want. Something that is going to be tattooed on yourself, it's good to remember that you have say in how you personally want it designed.
5. Getting the tattoo, you have to prepare yourself before going in there. Make sure to eat something before you go, no one wants anyone to pass out during the session.
6. The application of the tattoo is important. Making sure wherever you want it placed, even if it takes a few times for the artist to reposition it is a big deal when getting ink on yourself.
7. For aftercare, it is very valuable to listen to the artist on how to care for it. Always wash it with fragrance-free soap, and keeping it moisturized with aquaphor so it doesn't dry itself out.
8. Tipping an artist is a good idea, if they did the work you were expecting it's always nice to tip them after so for your next tattoo they do the same kind of work.
Note: Remember, don't go for less when picking out a tattoo. Choose one that represents something for you, and make sure it's one you'll be happy with. Ink is permanent, and covering up is always an option. But picking out the best one, is a good idea.
My latest tattoo I got was back in August, in South Dakota during the Sturgis rally. I had chosen a tattoo that I connected with, and I chose an artist there that had all their work set out. After looking at his previous tattoos he had done, and looking at other artists as well, I decided to go with him because he showed he had better lined work with good details.
